Half empty, half full

When a glass is half filled with water, there are two different ways of describing what one can see. One can either say the glass is half empty or they can say the glass is half full, the difference in those responses is due to a difference in perspective. It is amazing how a shift in perspective can give a whole different meaning to a story. When you look around you, what do you see? Do you see the things that you have or is your attention drawn more to the things that you don't have? Sometimes it's easy to fall into the trap of focussing on what you don't have and staying stuck in that place can bring up all sorts of emotions and feelings and quickly lead to unhealthy comparing, self-judgement and sometimes even self-resentment. While you wait for change, it is good to stop every now and again and find things around you to be thankful for, that is the true art of gratitude.
