Motherhood is very exciting and most rewarding experience. But the truth is, you don’t get to learn everything about it until you hold your baby in your arms. For some, the journey is smooth, it is just as they expected it to be. But for some, even the childbirth itself is very traumatic, something they did not plan for. From wanting a natural birth to an emergency C-section, from wanting to exclusively breastfeed to having a baby who won’t latch on and breastfeeding becomes a struggle, from wanting a baby who sleeps through the night to realising that the reality is, that baby only sleeps during the day, not at night time. These many seem like small issues, but for some, such matters make them begin to second-guess their abilities as mothers, it is such things that easily lead into post-natal depression. Imagine going from reading every book there is about pregnancy and childbirth to having a baby who does nothing according to the book and now you must re-learn everything according to the “book” of your own baby.
What if someone could tell you, babies are not all the same, what works for one, may not work for another. What if someone could just whisper in your ear that you are doing well and you are the best thing that could ever happen to your baby, hang on in there, it will get better.
