The language of Love

ree

Love is the greatest gift that can be given from one person to the other. And just as there are so many vernacular languages in this world that we live in, there are so many love languages as well. Knowing and understanding someone's love language is important because in understanding how they resonate with love, you can be guaranteed that they will receive and appreciate the love shown to them. Did you know that when talking about love and its languages, the limit is not just to couples? This extends to relationships with, for example, your children, relatives, close friends, etc? Do you ever feel like the significant people in your life do not appreciate what you do for them? Could it be that you are knocking on the wrong door, showing them love in ways that do not resonate with them? How about you commit to go on a journey to get to know each important person in your life and what their love language is? You might be surprised all it takes to turn a corner in that relationship is to buy them a gift of a box full of chocolate when all along you have been cleaning their messy room every week and not getting much appreciation for it. I can already see a lot of mums with teenage kids nodding along to this one. Yes, sometimes, it's not that those teenagers are ungrateful, it's just they need to be shown that you see them and you love them in a love language that they understand.
